 Mother of : Sarah Strickland (Australia), Charles I. McCoy (New York City), C, Graeme     McCoy (Colorado Springs, Co.), C. Allan McCoy (Charlottesville, Va.) and Stepmother to  Craig R. McCoy (Philadelphia, Pa), and Bruce A. McCoy (Reading, Mass,) and grandmother to Kim, Brian, Rebecca, Grace, and Darcy.

 Blessed and married in 2002 to The Rev. Dr. Patricia L. Hanen, PhD, Rector, New Life Episcopal Church

 Church-related experience includes a Master of Divinity degree from The Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) in Cambridge, Massachusetts and service at five churches in Massachusetts and the Diocese of Ohio. Her clergy emphasis is on transitional ministry, liturgy, and spiritual development.

She is a trained “Circle of Life” director.  Dr. McCoy is engaged in non-liturgical inner-city support and prison ministry in Cleveland, Ohio and has served as Chaplain for CPE at the Cleveland Clinic.

Previous professional experience includes Senior Government Policy Making (Cabinet-level) in New Zealand and Australia, and over two decades in university teaching and research in Australia and the USA as well as senior administrative positions at Griffith University in the Department of Commerce and Administration, Queensland, Australia and as Chair and full professor of Political Science at Kent State University. Dr. McCoy is well published in the fields of political economy, public policy analysis, and philosophy and political theory.

She is currently engaged in research and writing in the area of spiritual formation (The Pedagogy of Conversion) and ethical ecclesiology in contemporary life (An “Ethics” Primer for Church Leaders; beyond situational ethics) as well as an investigation into the legacy of the reform “confessions”.

She resides in Cleveland’s Near West Side with Patricia and their two dogs, Zoe and Maggie and enjoys needlework, sewing, and poetry.
